Turn Out the Stars
Turn Out the Stars When You Leave
The title of this project comes from something I read in Maggie Valentine’s The Show Starts on the Sidewalk. It was talking about atmospheric style movie palaces, which have domed ceilings with blinking “stars” and clouds projected on the canopies. A theater in Faribault, Minn., posted a sign for its workers saying, “Please do not turn on the clouds until the show starts. Be sure the stars are turned off when leaving.”
The silhouette of the auditorium-style theater on the home page is the Granada Theater in Minneapolis.
